Well, here I am up again because of leg pain. Not to mention my husband's snooring, but that is another story all together.
I know its part FM, part Sciatica, part SI joint and 100% a pain in the rump, but does it have to bother me every night? Knowing what it is and what it isn't really doesn't affect the level of pain. Ironically, some docs seem to think so. As I sit here, I even know why it is bothering me so much. Going to the gym! When I went this morning, I usually go on the treadmills, but they were all being used. So I went to my second and last resort, the full seat stationary bike. Well, I was only on it for 15 minutes, but it was just enough for the pain to set in. I knew I was in for it half way through the 15 mins. but I didn't want to just have walked in, just to walk out. I have quite a bit of weight to loose and the doctors keep telling me to do so (loose the weight, get exercise etc etc etc), but every time I try, this happens. How can I do what the doctors want me to do when it causes pain? Any suggestions besides amputating my leg???

Hey, Wendy...
I'm dealing with the same thing myself. Have been for the past nine days. This is really unlike anything I've ever felt before. I have pain from my hip all the way down to my ankle, and my left leg is soooo sore that even touching it hurts like crazy. I can't sit or lie down for more than a few minutes before the pain starts driving me mad! Does your leg feel anything like this? I would sure be interested to know, because I've had fibro for nearly four years, but I've never experienced this before. My PC wants to sent me to a rheumy again to have it checked out. I hope you're feeling better, and your pain doesn't last for as long as mine has. Idealist |

Thanks. Well I can say that I have had this feeling off and on for about a year now. Lately the pain is bad. I am thinking of going to see a neuro or a orthopedist that specializes in spinal issues/hip issues. Not sure yet.

Sigh. I'm sorry you guys are having this problem.
I just saw a 'spine specialist'. I just laughed when the appointment was over. Same old stuff and he sat there, this figure of authority, telling me the same things I've been hearing for years now. Only this one rx'd "Quit falling so much." and chuckled. Ha ha ha ha ha. I am of no help.

Oh Wendy, by the way...I was just looking at your signature.
Have you not had SI injections before? They are very painful, BUT...for me have been extremely successful! I was getting the Depo Medrol injections in my lower spine for years until that doctor left. A new doc came in and said he wanted to try something different...that often 'they' were finding that the sac joints were causing lower back pain. They worked small miracles for me. I highly recommend doing that if it's an option. Now to find a miracle for my tailbone.
