There used to be a male veterinarian who posted here and at another board who had fibro and fixed it with going gluten free, and removing casein and later soy from his diet.
If anyone is interested, PM me and I will give you his website.

well ... have been on the lyrica for over a month now ... really am not sure what i am suppose to be getting in the way of benefits ... i am always over doing it, what with the job, the house, the kids, and frank ... frank says i am sleeping better so i guess that is good ... and so far no weight gain ... no weight loss either .... my hips seem to be my largest problem as they are always in really bad pain ...frank gives me one of his pain pills when it gets really bad and i am in tears ... guess i am going to have to ask doctor for pain medication

Well It's good to hear that you are tolerating the Lyrica ok, your doctor will probably up the dose, some people don't get relief until 300 - 450 max a day.
Sleeping is a great benefit, My doc has put me on low dose Cymbalta to see if I tolerate it, if so he will double the dose in two weeks. Having some pain meds on hand is not a bad idea either Stay well, and take it a little slower |

Hi Deb.
If you have still not obtained any pain meds, I would suggest you ask the Dr. for Tramadol (Ultram). It is my savior. I take 2(50 mg. each) tablets 4 times a day. I have been on so many meds for Fibro, including many narcotics in high doses and none have helped me as much as Tramadol. It also helps with the lack of energy and is gentler than Provigil. Also, just last month I had my Dr. check my Vit D level after I read on this forum about how Mayo Clinic did a study which showed low levels of it can increase muscle pain a lot. My level was extremely low and I am now taking D3 Cholecalciferol 2000 IU/day and will have my blood retested soon. Sending you big big hugs and hope, Sue

Hi, my diagnosis was hard to get. And its been a thing that after having
neurotin added to my already cymbalta. I had less problems. I'm starting to have more, but I know I have to watch how much zanaflex and neurotin I'm taking I wasn't getting enough in a day. I guess feeling better I feel down a little. Donna |

Any drugs like Tramadol or other pain meds I have to call the doc for a refill...then he can monitor how I'm doing. You have to be careful with the perscribed dose. Somedays I don't feel like I need the drug and other days I need more than usual. If the doc says take the pill three times a day I take them three times a day. I'm good at not medicating until my pain is screaming at me....you never catch up! So great to hear what help others!!Now I need to pratice what I preach...lol

ITs the same way for me with the medicines my pain doctor prescribes. I have to call and get a refill. I've had trouble getting through to the office so I had to take myself down one pill on the one medicine so I can stretch it long enough. But its worth it to get to my appointment. Its just this last month that its been necessary, but I can sure feel it. Donna |

I think Tramadol is very helpful, as well as Cymbalta. I hope you feel better soon.
