Unhappy OUCH ! and I thought I didnt need Lyrica anymore...

Alright...

Hello everybody...

I took lyrica for one year... it helped me a lot... but, at the end, I had to stop because I was suffering of edema... and, some other side effects... so, my doc told me to stop it...

I was feeling ok... and when I started to feel pain again, I started to take vitamin B and D pills and I felt better...

But oh hell, this last 5 days or so... OUCH !!! My waist, my hip, my wrists and arms are killing me !!!!!! I will go to my doc soon, but I dont want to go back to Celebrex and Lyrica again However, what to do ???

Do you survive without medicine ? How ? Will the pain subside soon ? Like, having bad days but also, some good days... ??

Also, Im in those days of the month (period), have you felt that "thing" aggraviates your fibro ??

Any suggestion, idea, help will be really, really appreciated !

You might try heat. I am doing massage therapy and we are finding
that one of the things that is helping the tightness in my muscles is
heat on the sore muscles.

I'm really using as much as I can right now. Also I've been told that
magnesium is a good medicine for fibromyalgia.

Thanks for that Donna.

That makes sense because I like to cover the parts of my body that are hurting and I feel relief, so, heat definetely helps... Thanks.

I will buy some magnesium tablets too

Hope it helps Let me know.

I know that my massage therapist and I have worked really hard for a few
weeks now to try and give me some relief in my neck and legs.

And my neck since monday has been great. And so far my lower back
and hips are doing pretty good tonight. Just will need some heat too.

But my legs well we are using as much heat as I can. I just can't see
to get rid of the bruises.

Default Off label

Because I have stage 1 kidney disease I can't take traditional fibromyalgia drugs, so off label use of Mirapex was prescribed. I too have edema but it's usually a signal from my kidneys that I have over done salt or something. My kidneys speak loudly when I screw up.

I've never taken any of the so called fibro drugs. I was given the dx in 1999. I believed and still do believe it's so low thyroid issues.

I got my thryoid supported after 10 yrs of being told I was "normal". The lab numbers run the doctor's decisions...we are not numbers. The old time doctors had no labs to go by, they went by symptoms.

I have addressed adrenals. Hormones with DHEA.

Magnesium thru the day. Vit C a couple times per day. MSM three times per day.

I deal with bodywide arthritis but manage there too. And a messed up hip replacement.

I've been on FM/CFS support groups and learned so much since that 1999 dx. Again, I believe it's so much thyroid. Doctors just don't take the time and it's so easy to write a script for one of their drugs. We need to do our research and let doctors know that we KNOW a lot about what we supposedly are challenged with. Thank goodness for the net and world of supplements. C

Lyrica per my doc resets the pain threshold. It makes you capable of tolerating more pain.
