Default Medical article about Fibromyalgia

I recently did an eMedicine search for fibro info and I found this very well written and comprehensive article....

To access eMedicine articles, you might have to sign-up, but it's free to sign-up and I have never gotten any spam or junk from them.

eMedicine has 2 areas - one for medical professionals and one for patients... this article comes from the area that is meant for medical professionals -- which I find helpful because when I print out an eMedicine article to bring to my doctor she never questions the content since the articles are medical articles written by doctors for medical professionals.

So if you have a doctor who treats fibro like a "wastebasket" diagnosis, or if you have a doctor who does not believe in fibro - this article could be helpful to bring to your next appointment

Happy Reading!

Edited to add - this is the first medical article about fibro that I have seen that actually discusses Substance P and the HPA axis... anyone who has read Starlanyl's book will recognize this article - many of the topics in the article are covered in her book, but this is the first time I have seen them addressed in a professional medical article

Thanks very much for posting that article.
I've saved it now to read later.

p.s. it opens fine without registration.

That's an amazing article, thank you very much. It's like reading a chapter from my own life book. Very informative.

Story of my life too. Unfortunately some of the meds the recommend I have been on in the past and don't work well for me. Maybe I am just a rough case.

Thanks, Liz. I think this is a great article. I made a copy of it for my "collection".
