Default Chicken Tonight Sweet and Sour Sauce

OK folks, I am on a HUNT!

I used to love Ragu Chicken Tonight Sweet and Sour sauce. You'd cook the chicken and then pour on the sauce and cook it a bit longer and them YUMYUM!

They discontinued it here in the US. I know you can still buy it in GB and IR and possibly other countries, but not HERE!

I cannot see paying $7.00 a jar to get it shipped to me, which is what most online places are charging, so I want to find a recipe that matches it. I did the online searches to no avail.

My question is does anyone know of a site that figures out how to make stuff that is no longer available? I know years ago you could write to Good Housekeeping or Women's Day and they would make up a recipe that closely resembles what you want, but they did it for restaurant recipes, not grocery stuff.

Any suggestions are appreciated and TIA!!

I have this mental picture in my mind of you all, shaking bones and bells and charms, muttering prayers and voodoo curses, dancing around in a circle of salt, with leetle glasses and tiny bottles of cheer in the middle...myyyyyy friends!

Try this recipe RW or look at the other sweet and sour sauces on the site. I bet you can figure a way to come close to it, and it will be fun trying. yum! I'm a member of this site. I love finding tasty and easy recipes and slightly modifying them before printing them out.

I found a great and easy black bean soup recipe last week and our youngest DS said it was the best Mexican soup he has ever had.
