I shop Trader Joe's when I can get there. We have quite a few TJ's in our general area, but not one real close to me...so I do a drive. Last night after dinner with a friend, we went to a TJ's across the street from where we ate.
I picked up 2 pre packed salads, which I've done in the past, but not recently...I combine 2 salads in a large covered bowl and get two salad meals from these pre made salads. I just had a very tasty cobb/slaw salad for breakfast. I don't eat the standard bread/cereal breakfasts for a long time. I'll probably eat the rest of this salad mix later today or tomorrow for breakfast. I realized how much I miss these mixed salads and the prices are so good. http://traderjoes.com/fearless-flyer/article/983 |

Hi Caroline,
We are fans of TJs as well. One of our favorite salads is called "HEALTHY 8 CHOPPED VEGGIE MIX" that consists of broccoli, carrots, green and red cabbage, jicama, bell pepper, radish and celery. It is cut into chunks the size of a Lima bean so it is very crunchy. We use it as a base for all different kinds of salads and add avocado and chicken or peas, etc. I'm with you....these prepackaged salads are well priced and a great time saver. My only caution is to always check the expiration dates and if close to the current date, don't get it. Hope you are doing well Caroline. My best, Diandra |

To this morning's salad mix, I cut up 1/2 avacodo. One can add their own fixins and yes I agree look at the dates...these salads move fast at TJ's so freshness is almost guaranteed.
Diandra, I'm good enough, hope you are well. |

Great idea with the salads. I get my sprouted bread at Tj's only 7 carbs a slice.
