Default Salmon recipes/ advice from Dr Masley

on PBS TV the other night I saw a show done by Dr Steven Masley.
He is a doc specializing in cardiac issues and he actually went to culinary school.
He believes that eating properly is an essential issue for cardiac health
(we all know that but our doc visits often end up with a fistful of scripts rather than good nutrition advice).

He said, if healthy food doesn't taste good, folks just aren't going to eat it, hence his culinary school education.

Here is a link to his advice on getting good quality fish, especially salmon.
Also a recipe for salmon salad to replace tuna fish salad. I made it with of few of my own tweeks and it was declicious....a really nice change from tuna. I did not use hummus or capers, used lots of fresh dill, lots of celery and mayo and extra yellow mustard and fresh lemon. Beware of canned salmon...the one I bought was loaded with bones and skin by the time I threw all that out, half the can was gone. I think it would be cheaper to buy fresh and cook it yourself, or, he mentions the name of a company to get good quality fish from.

We also tried the grilled salmon recipe and it was very good as well.

Hope you enjoy these recipes and advice as much as I did.
Dr Masleys show was also on YouTube. I enjoyed it.
My best,
Diandra

I will buy sockeye salmon when our market has it affordable and saute 8oz or so and with what I don't eat hot I will make a small salmon salad with celery and mayo...nothing fancy...so good. And fresh lemon squeeze, I use lemons in about everything.
