I don't know how this might translate to you all not in Australia, but I have an amazing slow cooker recipe for corned beef/silverside.
It's 1.5 Kilo (mine was 1.7 kilo) of lean corned silverside. 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar 2 fresh mint sprigs 1 onion, peeled and studded with 4 cloves 1 carrot, peeled and cut up roughly into chunks 2 cups/500 ml water 6 peppercorns So you put it all in the cooker on low for 10-12 hours. (or High setting for 6-7hrs) I made a white onion sauce to go with it and steamed carrots, potatoes and beans. YUM.
