Hi...
I'm a 20 year old female who was diagnosed with Arnold Chiari Malformation, Syringomyelia, and Ehlers Danlos in 2005. I frequently have multiple symptoms, but have not had any surgery to correct anything yet since none of the conditions are bad enough to require surgery for the time being. (The recovery would be worse than the symptoms I'm having.) For the past several months I've been having mild to severe pain in my upper thighs, my sides, and sometimes my arms. It's not really a constant pain, but only if I put pressure on them. (Sitting doesn't do anything.) If I bump into something or someone hugs me -- stuff like that. It hurts horribly bad, to the point of almost tears, but everyone just kind of laughs at me since I really didn't hit anything too hard. I also bruise real easily. Sometimes I have horrible pain throughout my entire legs that is constant and there's nothing I can do about. Sitting or standing makes no difference. That pain usually only lasts a couple hours and isn't very often. I guess I'm just wondering which of these conditions this could be related to? I don't have Ehlers Danlos severely at all, so I don't know if maybe I'm just having mild symptoms of that? Or if it's just due to the pressure on the nerves from Chiari? Or maybe the syrinx's are pressing nerves? It takes several months to get into my dr and get an MRI, so I haven't got to do that just yet, but was looking for any input. Thanks! |
