Default Hi I am new and have a couple questions...

Hi,
I have had lots of interesting symptoms over the last 4 or so years. Some involve pain that my doctor couldn't figure out what was causing it. My eyes move back and forth quickly for up to a couple hours, usually 3 times a week or so. I am tired a lot. Usually in summer and winter. I have slept up to 16 hours in a day and still felt like I can't open my eyes. Which is frustraing because in highschool i kept a job, played 3 sports, made good grades, and went to church 3 times a week. I love being out but I can't take it anymore, especially when it is really hot or really cold. The reason I am here is because when i went in for an eye exam a few months ago the eye doctor noticed my eye twitching. She asked how often it happens. I told her the twitching had just started but the moving back and forth really fast had been going on for awhile. She asked if i had any pain or tingling. I went through the list. Especially pain and tingling in my left hand and my legs. I also have a spot in my rib cage that will go numb and my lower back and even my scalp will tingle a lot. She said i needed to go to me dr. and get and MRI. She mentioned MS and othe nerve problems. Which I did have one other Dr. say that my fingers being stuck together on my left hand and my hands shaking seemed like a nerve problem. The problem is....I don't have money to go to the Dr. even if I went and talked to a Dr. i wouldn't be able to afford an MRI or any other testing. So I figured I would save up until things got worse and then go.
Now the pain in my side has comeback. It is in my gall bladder area. They tested my gall bladder 4 yrs ago and 2 yrs ago when I still had insurance. They said it was slightly abnormal but nothing bad enough that could even cause any problems or pain. Now it is happening every couple of days. I have tried to watch what I eat. It hurts so bad sometime I can't move....well i can but it feels like something is going to rip out of me. I have to try to make it to my room so my daughter doesn't have to see me in pain. Also my legs have been falling asleep at night....and getting tinglely even when I am walking. It is normal falling asleep. Like my whole leg and half the other will fall so asleep that I can't even move them at all. I pinch my legs and i don't feel anything. They feel dead. It has taken me several minutes of trying to use my hands to shake them around to get them awake enough to where i can even feel them. Then i have to work on them enough to be able to get out of bed and walk. It used to just be my feet. I was diagnosed with Raynaud's. My feet would fall asleep after being cold. One night I even woke up to go to the bathroom and was half asleep and didn't realize my foot was a sleep and stepped down. my whole foot flopped over and I was standing on my ankle. I couldn't feel my foot. My foot hurt for several days after. But the leg things is starting to freak me out. Even if i sit for just a few minutes and try to get up my legs tingle and everything hurts and it is hard to walk.

I am wanting to know if this sound anything like the rest of whats going on. If it could go with a nerve problem that my eye doctor wanted me to check about. I wish I could just go to the Dr. But I can't afford it. I have a clinic I can go to but everytime I go to them they try to put me on prozac They seem to want to give me prescriptions instead of testing me for anything. I know I am not depressed.....I am starting to get a little anxious because my daily life has become so effected and I am getting behind all the time. I just want to know if the leg thing is bad enough to absolutely have to find some way to see a Dr. I figure if it is a nerve problem it will progressively get worse. I am not as concerned about it getting worse if there is nothing I can do.....i just don't want to lose my life. That is the only thing that scares me because I have a daughter.

So sorry your having so many symptoms and no explanation for the causes. I do know what it feels like to not have insurance. I don't know if you would qualify for medicade...?

My husband has MS and he has some of the symptoms you have but also they could be connected to so many other ailments.

My prayers are with you hoping you can find answers soon...

Here at NeuroTalk we have a huge amount of people who are always willing to help and comfort.

Take care and know we are here....

First, let me say that I'll be praying for you. Remember... God only give us what he knows we can handle. I have had many of the same symptoms over the last two years. Still do. I would try taking the Prozac-I can hear the panic in your voice and it may help the anxiety while you sort things out. What I know for sure is that stressing over symptoms will only make them worse and could possibly create more. Another issue you may run into is that your doctors will write you off as uncoorperative and that will delay a real diagnosis.

If you have a clinic, use it. Do what the doctors ask; give the medication or procedures time to work. If it doesn't help, let the doctors know and move on. To start all that... start with deep, slow, breathes. Be firm but fair in your assessments of what works and what does not. Don't go in with predetermined ideas that "this won't work" because it just might be the answer. And in my case, there was more than one right answer. I've only been doing this for a couple of years, and it is VERY frustrating sometimes. But in order to get better; we have to keep moving forward.
