Magnate

--is an already usable form for the body; the cobalamin molecule is already methylated. Cyanocobalamin can work, but first the body has to chemically break off the cyanide radical (and who wants that running around the body anyway) and methylate the cobalamin--simply more metabolic hoops for the molecule to jump through before it is usable, and for some people with metabolic difficulties, they risk not having as large a usable dose.
Speaking of which, the reason to take cobalamin on an empty stomach is that the molecule is the largest one our body regularly uses, and its absorption can be easily interefered with by a mutlitude of others, so it's better to take it in isolation for best effect. |

--take the methylcobalamin if you can get it (at least 1000mcg/day); it may help forestall some situations that some people have with cyanocobalamin.
It is easy and inexpensive to get--not only do many drug stores carry it now, but it's available through many on-line stores that a lot of us here use--Swanson, Iherb, etc. |
