I have been having trouble with muscle weakness, numbness on my left side sevevere hand tremors, shooting pain down both arms and left leg the list goes on started with internal medicine, am currently seeing Neurologist, chad CT and MRI which showed arthritis and possible extra fluid. Behind optic nerve but doc does not feel it I clinically insignificant next muscle test Intern says I have severe Vit D deficiency but other labs normal. I am feeling that they think it is psychiatric , I wasn't,t depressed till I started getting sick .Has any one had an experience like this?

Hang on -- I'll get someone to try to answer this.

Welcome to NeuroTalk:
May I ask what other lab work you have had done?
Have you had B12 measured? do you know the numbers?
Lab ranges in US are outdated and report low results as "normal" and many doctors are not aware of this. Very low B12 affects the spinal cord and nervous system and needs accurate diagnosis.

So since you are low in D, your B12 may also be out of range with the newer guidelines.

When a person gets stuck like this with a medical situation, and feels they are not being listened to or things are being ignored or not being explained fully, I think it is time to find another doctor. Request your lab and scan results and take them to another physician.
