It could be that you don't "methylate" properly....and what you have is actually a relative def.......post to the vitamin forum and ask mrsd....

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

Can you tell me what your test result was?

The ranges for B6 from a doctor's office measure serum levels. NOT what is really in the cells. Those ranges are statistical values taken from people who are NOT taking vitamins.
Cellular testing is thought to be more accurate and this is one example of a lab that does that:
http://www.spectracell.com/

It has been found that some people have higher serum levels than others with no supplements. This may be due to eating enriched foods, like Total breakfast cereal, or using Boost, Ensure, or other enriched foods.

I have a B6 thread on our Vitamin forum:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread30724.html

One group that did show up in studies was autistic children. They showed elevated B6 (pyridoxine) serum levels when no supplements were taken.

The actual number of people who have been identified with B6 toxicity were taking the old PMS treatment of 500mg or more a day.

Pyridoxine from enriched foods and vitamins has to be activated by the body to pyridoxal, and this takes place in the liver. If this does not happen, all of the systems, (hundreds of them) that use pyridoxal as a cofactor of metabolism fail to work properly, including the muscles.

From what I have read, elevated factor 8 may occur in some patients with liver disease.

I think you need to find a good hematologist for further evaluation of your clotting factors and petechiae. When you go for that ..request a B12 level, and Vit D.
Compression of nerves while sleeping is common, and can happen to anyone. Frequent symptoms like you describe may indicate you are low in B12 as well. Get the numbers from the test and don't accept "normal". Lab ranges in US are characteristically low, and anything below 400 needs further evaluation and treatment.

This thread has medical information on B12 and explains further:

I can't evaluate your clotting factors. Those are beyond me.

Your B6 is in a "normal range" as some labs report 20-96 as normal. But I think it is not applicable to you at this time.

Your D3 is low and you should be higher. Estimates are 1000IU orally for every 10 ng/ increase. To get you to 50ng which is the minimum normal today suggested you need 2000IU D3 more.

Your B12 is borderline. Just barely at 400. You can choose to take more to bring it up. I have a medical paper in that B12 link I gave you that said some patients need more than others. It is in the paper by Dr. Snow near the end of that thread, which I have it quoted.

You'll need more medical opinions because of your clotting disorder, and possibly tests.

Default elevated b6 neuro symptoms

Hi I have elevated b6 levels. normal is 2-20 mine is 80.
I have peripheral neuropathy, muscle twitching, feeling of having a "mask" on my face at times, tired, muscle weakness. Have been checked for everything, all normal except elevated b6. MD, and Neurologist just tell me to stop supplements and go on low b6 diet. I believe there is underlying metabolic problem. I started having neuropathy in feet before supplements. Just got much worse when I took multi and b complex for a month. I do not know what type of doctor to go to or where for help. Can you advise?

I have this too. It sucks. ** B6 is horrible for people. No one should be taking it without being monitored. Causes horrible nerve damage and there are tons of people who suffer because of it.
