Default Question Re: Serum Magnesium & Potassium Levels

My serum magnesium & potassium levels have been teetering on the brink of being "low" for most of a year now that I know about. There's a normal range given for both of these (For Potassium it's 3.5-5.5: Mine was recently measured at 3.8, Magnesium normal range is 1.7-2.2: mine is 1.7)

So technically, I'm "normal", but is there a "sweet spot" toward the middle or higher end of the range that it's better to be at? I was on diuretics for BP which explained the potassium-- it actually came up after I quit them, but even with a daily supplement the magnesium hasn't risen more than 1/10 of a point or so... From a neurological standpoint should I be concerned about this?
