Default 9 years of head pressure

Hi! My husband has suffered with head pressure for 9 years, going on 10. It starts as a pressure in the front of his head and turns into a migraine. Sounds crazy, but he has learned what to do when the pressure gets unbearable, and when the debilitating migraine starts to happen, he can drink a few shots of alcohol and it will (most of the time if he catches it in time) relieve the massive pressure overnight returning it to its usual. He has seen approximately 7 neuros, an opthamologist, dentist for TMJ, had acupuncture, had 3 MRI's, etc. This all started about 2 weeks after he had a motocross accident, which we know he did not lose consciousness. Every neurologist he visits just feeds him more pills. He has been on headache meds, anxiety pills, alzheimers, seizure meds, high blood pressure meds, etc. He has been off all pills for years (he says the pills make it worse) and he goes this week to see an endocrinologist. I just want him to feel better, and I know he does also. He is convinced he is going to die from this. It is crazy. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you!

Alcohol is a potent vasodilator.

There are things OTC that dilate blood vessels too.

One is magnesium supplements. Since most Americans are low in magnesium taking 1/2 of the RDA using a good form may help.

This tends to dilate blood vessels, and has also been used for various migraine treatments by some doctors.

This is my magnesium thread which explains it:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread1138.html

Avoid magnesium oxide...as it is not absorbed but instead stays in the bowel and acts as a laxative.

There are lotions you can buy also, they appear in some of the posts on that thread.

I'd try this first. It is simple, his body probably needs it anyway.
There are food lists on that link too, if he prefers to eat his magnesium as nature intended.

How did he land - on his head, shoulder, neck?

Have you considered an expert chiropractor- upper cervical perhaps?
A c1- c2 adjustment is very gentle if concerned about regular adjustments.
Skilled & experienced DC's can adjust very carefully & precisely.

If all Imaging & xrays are coming out as normal, this is the next step I would look into. those tests usually don't show the minute misalignment's that can be there. MD's generally don't study this area in depth...

And there is often still a bias against chiropractic..

I will have him try the magnesium, that is one thing that has not been tried. Thank you for the recommendation.

As for the chiropractor, he did that around the same time he did the acupuncture. The adjustment actually made it worse for a few days, so he hasn't been back!!! And he tumbled when he landed, so we aren't real sure what he landed on first. There were two bikes involved.
