Default 21 yr College Student So Sick and Drs can't find out what is wrong

Helllo, My Nephew is sick. He eats or drinks something and throws it up in 20 min still whole as when he chewed it. Dr. have done all the tests and can't find anything wrong. He is still sick and lothrgic, removed Galbladder and sain it was not normal was all stickey and behind liver. I think there is a blockage there somewhere. Drs. Said between the head and stomach, he was going to have to learn to live with it. He gets so dehydrated. He was a 3.9 college student all he wants is to feel better and go back to school. Anyone heard of anything l

Smile Hello and Welcome

Hello BrokenLymeGirl and WELCOME to NeuroTalk!

I am so sorry to hear of your nephew's struggles. You area a GOOD Aunt!

I know I would do whatever I could for my nieces and nephew's.

Has your Nephew seen a Gastroenterologist? an Internist?

I wish I knew of more to suggest.

I will be keeping your nephew in my thoughts and prayers.

Abbie

Smile Hello BrokenLymeGirl...

Welcome to Neurotalk!

I am so sorry to hear of your Nephew's struggles
I can imagine how difficult this must be for you. You're doing a wonderful thing by reaching out for support like this.
NT has alot to offer in the way of support and understanding. There is also alot of great information to read thru.
There is a 'search' feature toward the top of the page I find very useful. Just type in key words and it'll bring up posts regarding these issues. That's one way of pinpointing things of interest.

Make yourself at home here. We're a very caring bunch!

Caring,
Rae

Default Dear Brokenlyme

You are a great Aunt for trying to help your nephew. Welcome to Neuro talk, and I hope there will be good advice to you. An upper GI Specialist is who you should try to get an appointment with.A Gastrointerologist.{sp} is the one who can do a proper evaluation. This issue you are very correct, is not something that is normal. If there is a blockage, or anything else wrong in the esophogus, or stomach, this type of doctor will find it. I had my first endoscopy not too long ago, and this was not a proceedure to be fearful of. I had trouble swallowing. Please try to get him a referal, maybe from his primary care physician. A community advocate service is also in many hospitals that may lead you in the right direction too. I sure wish him the best. You are a very caring Aunt, and I am glad he has you in his corner. Neruo Talk will be here to talk to, anytime you need a question answered, there will be someone herre for you. I wish you all the best, and a speedy resolution for this medical condition. ginnie
