Default Cognitional learning disability

Hi I am looking for advice on what I can do to strengthen my cognition so that I can take better control of my thoughts. In most social situations I find myself unable to collectively gather my thoughts so that they can be translated into clear, fluent, speech. I also find it hard to speak my mind most of the time.

When I do try to talk my head is completely void of thoughts so I am always cut off from completing the sentence... I normally have to shorten it or condense it into a few words so that I can get what I need to say out in the open. Normally this doesn't give the one listening to me a full picture of what was intending to say so that the reply is normally shorter than it could have been.

You see I am really conscious of the interacting connection between people when socializing. If I am unable to feed fluent, easy to digest, information to the one hearing me, I will not get much of a response in return. What you feed out is what you get back, in other words...

I have learned not to care as much when this happens, but it does make me feel like I am cognition-ally handicapped.

I tried talking to my psychiatrist about this but it is not visible to him at all... he says, along with everyone else, that my voice is coming out naturally. This tells me that I have a delusional mind frame... but I can't seem to ignore the feeling I get from it.

Any advice would be great. Thank you!

Welcome to the NeuroTalk support groups.

Doesn't sound/read like a delusional mind frame to me.

I tend to have some social anxiety (not some, a lot) and at times when I'm speaking with someone face to face, then my brain can just go blank in the middle of a sentence. Just because something is not visible to someone else doesn't mean it's not real.
