Default Trihexyphenidyl???

Hello everyone, my neurologist wants me to start the medication Trihexyphenidyl 2mg three times a day. Before I can start taking it I have to see the ophthalmologist. I am just curious if weird side effects are common with this medication and how bad these side effects are. Has anyone had any really good results from being on this medication? As of now I am also on l-dopamine, Celebrex, midodrine, and Bentyl.

Exclamation

What is the rationale for this?

When you say l-dopamine, do you mean l-dopa? The Parkinson's drug? Do you have a diagnosis of Parkinson's?
Artane (Trihexyphenidyl) is used in Parkinsons.

Artane is an anticholinergic and additive with Bentyl.

This drug is not commonly used:

This is a very good drug checker. I put in Artane/Bentyl and this
is what it explains:

I'd say that is one serious thing for you to consider.

I'd suggest you visit our Parkinson's forum. They have alot of experience with these drugs. I think you are being given some heavy duty things for a young person. But that is my opinion.
Without a definite diagnosis of Parkinson's I can't think why you are on l-dopa, and going to get Artane.

This is the Parkinson's forum:

I really suggest you visit there and ask them, based on your symptoms.

Thank you!! I feel like my neurologist is leaning towards a diagnosis of parkinsons but does not have enough definitive proof yet to give me that diagnosis. I seemed to improve on the l-dopa, but not enough so she wanted to add the Trihexyphenidyl. Two of my cousins have Parkinsons so it wouldnt really come as a shock to me if I had it as well.
