Default Bringing down inflammation

Does anyone know of a good method or medicine to help bring down swelling. I re-Dislocated my left patella about two months ago, and have been going to physical therapy twice a week to build it back up. It took forever to get the Swelling to decrease. Finally it was getting better, and now all of a sudden it's severely swollen and painful again. It hasn't dislocated again, but the swelling is an issue. Advil, ice, and elevation do not seem to be doing enough to help. The is a good possibility that it will need to be fixed again, but for the mean time it is very uncomfortable. Any suggegstions would be greatly appreciated

dh messed up his knee and it took along time to get back to normal, or nearly normal.
We ended up buying an ultrasound off Amazon, and that seemed to take care of most of the problem. We also use a moist heating pad or infrared heating pad when it flares up and alternate with ice.

I have taken numerous anti-inflammatory meds for years. Each one after a while not working. When I had surgery on my hands my doctor prescribed Lodine. It did work on the inflammation and then I went to more conservative methods. RICE and an infrared machine I also got on amazon. It helps alot. But we are all different and we all have to find what works for us. Hope this helps. Praying you get relief and are pain free.

Thank you so much! I have been following the RICE method and I use the ultrasound machine at physical therapy. The orthopedic surgeon says he wants another MRI of my knee, and to see me before he prescribes anything for the inflammation. I suppose a few more days of discomfort won't really make a difference. Did the machine you bought on amazon work? I have looked one up, but my mother is hesitant of buying it because she thinks it is crap for about $100.
