Muscle waste and prolonged symptoms my surgeon advised me that I had a groove in my ulnar nerve where it had been rubbing on my elbow and two parts along my nerve which had thickened, I am getting a bit worried now as I have waste between my thumb and forefinger which wasn't there before. My numbness is significantly worse now after surgery. Prior to surgery I had a lump at the side of my wrist where the bottom of my hand starts I asked the surgeon about this after surgery who told me it may be tissue swelling, even though I had it prior to surgery, my question is,is it possible that after a transposition the nerve could get trapped on the wrist? Or could there be another explanation for the waste. I am using my hand except in the ulnar region where its numb, where I am trying to encourage use with it, i hope this makes sense.
Thanks in advance

I just saw this or would have responded sooner. I put off an ulnar decompression until I noticed some wasting. My surgery was a total success. If you are still having problems, a second opinion might be in order. Best wishes.
