Default Need Advice

Hi I am new to this have some odd things been going in my life and I am in need of answers. lol arent we all. ok well my lower back has been in pain for about 8 months been thinking it is just a pinched nerve then on monday both my legs and hips went numb and tingling all day was very concerning to me so I made a appointment with a chiropractor he told me he thinks I should be tested for ms which I have done years ago when I felt weak and then could not speak without it not making sense and being slurred had little strength in my whole body and even though I was not able to respond everything around me was normal in seeing and I was sent for numerous tests even had brain mri and c scan to see if it was a mini stroke or ms they came back neg. but it went away and everyone thought it was all in my head. So basically I was wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen? I am scared to do the MRI again and everyone think its in my head. Please if you have any advice I would love to hear it. Thanks!!!

Hi Christy ~ PLEASE -- do NOT go to a Chiropractor when it has to do with your spine!! You could be doing MORE damage to it!!! You don't have a diagnosis, and there could be nerves involved. Any manipulation by a Chiropractor could end up putting you in a wheelchair! My Neurosurgeon told me to NEVER go to a Chiropractor -- he said that spine patients could end up paralyzed or in a wheelchair.

Go to your regular doctor -- it sounds like you DO need an MRI with and without contrast material. That's about the only way to find out what's going on in your spine. Hopefully, it's nothing serious, but you need to know. After you have it done, get a copy of the report (they'll give you one) and bring it here. We can help you decipher it.

I wish you the very best -- let us know what happens. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

Thanks I did go to chiroprator and he would not see me he is the one that said he thought I needed to get further testing and said he would not treat me until I am all cleared that nothing else is wrong. I have been told they do not believe it is ms but I have a spot on my spinal cord which was seen in lower back mri but it is in my thoratic area so I am doing an Mri in mid back tomorrow. so we will see. But my doctor thinks it is Neuropathy and has put me on Neuronton it was working for about a week and a half now the tingling numbness and burning heels is back. going to do the nerve test next week hopefully just want answers tired of all the test and noone really knowing exact reason a without a doubt or evidence filled diagnosis.

Default Hi Christy

I am glad you found Neuro Talk. I hope alot of people respond to you. Right now, seeing a chiropractic person may not be the best idea. when you have neurological symptoms as you are having, it is best to go to a neurologist. There is nothing to fear from an MRI. It isn't radiation, but done with magnets. even if a contast is used, it isn't so bad. We would be here for you no matter what tests they had you do. Please seek out a good neurologist, or ask for a referral from your Primary care Physician. I hope you decide to see a new doctor, try to get dianosed. There can be conservative approaches to many illnesses. I will be here for you, anytime you want to talk. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. ginnie
