I have been having repeated episodes of vomiting. This started in March 2012.
I sometimes would have this occur once a week. I did have gallstones and thought this could be gallbladder (GB) problems. Dr removed GB in Sept 2012. Now since this time I have had two more episodes. I called Dr's office and they felt it wasn't anything to be concerned about at this time. I have lost about 10 percent of my weight in 9 months and I was thin to start with. Could I have cancer? Wouldn't the surgeon see if I had cancer of liver, stomach, or pancreas when doing GB removal operation? |

What meds do you take? Any SSRIs (antidepressants) or acid blocking drugs?
When do you throw up....after eating...empty stomach, after only certain types of food? etc. Is there pain and pressure before? Some more details would be helpful... Whatever happened with that "hepatitis" you might have had?

Dr says no to diabetes after random blood sugar was 98. fasting was 134.
Vomiting was in morning after bReakfast. Apparently no hepatitis. It doesn't seem to be connected with certain foods. No pain or pressure. No SSRI. I am on Prilosec for acid reflux. Dr didn't think it was connected with drugs. I am on gabapentin, Tramadol, Lidoderm pain patch, Lotrel,Niaspan |

I went to doctor today. She is looking at possible Crohn's or Celiac disease. They drew blood and did chest xray.

Welcome to Neuro talk. Sorry you are having that issue. I am no expert thats for sure, but you might want to see an upper GI specialist. They can take a peek into your throat and stomach and see what is going on. Don't be afraid of this proceedure, it doesn't hurt. ginnie

I did have test in Aug 2012 to test for acid reflux. It was one where I drank barium solution and they took x-rays of area. Is that the same procedure?
I asked Dr about pancreatic cancer. I had gallbladder removal op in Sept 2012 and Dr who did op wrote pancreas ok. Last edited by januarybabe; 01-18-2013 at 05:52 PM. Reason: Inaccurate |

No I am talking about an upper GI being done. They put youin to a light sleep, and take a camera down your throat. Looking at the actual tissues, taking a biopsy, and pictures. It is an outpatient proceedure, and it will discover if there is anything bad going on. If you are a bit afraid of cancer or something, this rules it out, and will releive your anxiety. It will also find out why you are thowing up. Will look at the opening flaps that are in your throat, vocal chords etc. I have had this done a number of times, and it isn't anything to be scared or worried about. Getting an IV is the worst part. I hope all works out for you. Let me know if there is anything else about this you need to find out about. ginnie
