Hi,
Is talking to yourself ever a sign of a neurological problem? I don't mean the normal talking to yourself that many people do in private. Example. I was in the kitchen by myself, and I said "Um, it was about 3:30 in the evening." I don't have any idea why I said this, and it was 7:00 at night at the time. I wasn't thinking about the time or anything... I have moments where I'm alone and I say sentences that don't make any sense like that. It just comes out and then I wonder why I said it. I've had some weird symptoms on and off for the past few years. Like stomach problems and lightheartedness. The biggest was when I lost my sense of taste completely for 2 months. I had an MRI and it was fine. I was also tested for porphyria and it was fine. Is the random, odd sentences I say to myself anything to be worried about, or am I just feeling some anxiety over nothing? Sorry if it's the second one. |

Sometimes I talk to myself or just say random things but I do have ACC so I geuss it could be a sign of a neuro disorder. I also tend to repeat sounds for some odd reason.

Hi, I just happened to read your thread. I would definitaly speak with your doctor about this. If a family member told me they did this, I would be worried about them. I have no idea what it could be, but hopefully, by the time you read this, you will have sought out your doctor. If you haven't, Please do.

By any chance have you hit your head lately or head been jolted?Are you having any other symptoms like headaches,dizzy,behavior changes,insomnia?

What Happened: In 2011 I was in a MVA . Symptoms: Physical: I am always cold in any season!!I cannot tolerate anything pressure on my head(sun glasses,hats)longer then a hour,Lock jaw/Displaced TMJ, Dropsey, Hands go numb, Arms go numb, back of head numb (when asleep),Muscle spasms in face & upper body,migraines, concentration headaches, dizziness, nausea, neck and back trauma (from accident), tinnitus, extreme light sensitivity, noise sensitivity, EXTREME fatigue, impaired vestibular system, balance off, Pupils NEVER equal, disrupted sleep cycles,speech problems. Cognitive: Cognitive Behavior, Brain fog, impulsivity, speech problems, word finding problems, slowed processing speeds, impaired visual memory, impaired complex attention Emotional: Unable to handle stress or overstimulation without getting extremely irritable or angry, easily overstimulated, MAJOR depression, major anxiety, Panic attacks Treatment so far: Treatment for PCS,PTSD,Depression & panic,Vestibular therapy, Physical therapy, Vitamin Schedule,Walking,No Dairy, No eggs, No caffeine, No artificial coloring, Sleep with 2 pillows, Very little sugars consumed, Eat healthy,No alcohol, Medications, limit stress and overstimulation. ~*~Learn to treasure yourself and your Divinity. My mom had an incident where she started talking without wanting to and the words that were coming out were not English or any other language. She was speaking garbled nonsense. This only lasted for a minute and she has not had a repeat episode. She was very upset over this as it had happened in public in front of her church members. The doctor was very concerned about this symptom and sent her for all kinds of heart tests. This can be a sign of a stroke. She had not had a stroke but they found that she has a hole in her heart. They have not done any treatment for it and she has so far not had another incident of this but I thought it sounded a little similar. I think this is something you need to get checked out. I would try a neurologist. Good luck to you.

Brain patch. . Had MVA in 2006 resulting in post concussive syndrome manifested by cognitive impairment, chronic pain/ fatigue. Chronic pain of head, neck, back, left leg. Other problems include REM sleep behavior disorder, nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy, chronic migraines associated with nausea/vertigo, episodes of passing out, hypoglycemia, liver dysfunction (had accidental overdose of acetaminophen in 2009) had liver and kidney failure, hernia, degenerative disc disease with compression of nerve root, PTSD, and other problems associated with functioning problems from traumatic brain injury (light, sound sensitive, easily overloaded, easily distracted, cannot focus, anxiety problems etc.) |
