Hello. I have chronic daily headaches lately- especially in the last few months. I have a Vp shunt due to severe hydrocephalus. I have had my shunt for 3 years. I have had my setting changed 15+ times and an anti-siphon device placed. MRIs show that my ventricles look normal. I've tried everything. I'm on anti-seizure meds (since having surgery I developed epilepsy.) does anyone out there with a vp have terrible headaches that come and go like this?

Did you have your MRI recently? I hope so, cause if it has been awhile, you might want to have another one.
Some medications can cause headaches too --- At the top on this page, you can look up your medications and see if yours can cause headaches. Go to the top where it says "Drugs" and then you can look up any medications that you're on and see what side effects they may cause. Also, talk to your doctor about what you can take for your headaches, such as Ibuprofren, Aspirin (doubtful) tylenol, etc. He may suggest something for you to take, or he may prescribe something. But talk to him. There's no need for you to suffer like this. Headaches can be debilitating. I wish you the very best. I'm sorry it took so long to get a reply. This site hasn't been very busy lately. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee
