Posting in a few different places...
Hi everybody, My name is Tracy. I'm looking for some direction on a symptom I'm having and from which I'm finding little relief. That symptom is that my face, nose and air passages, mouth and tongue all feel like they are freezing cold... as if I am breathing in Vicks VapoRub in every breath. The areas are not numb and they do not tingle... they just feel freezing cold (my sensation) but aren't to the touch. My teeth are very very sensitive, even to air, but cold liquids send me thru the roof. The first 5 minutes after I wake up, the feeling is gone, only to return quickly and for the duration of the day into night and going to sleep. My background includes: Graves and Hashimotos thyroid disease with radiated thyroid (nothing left) 2005; I'm on 120mg compounded Armour Thyroid daily. My FT3 and FT4 are low-normal, but my TSH is very very low anyway (.2) . This to me is clue #1. Why is my TSH so suppressed with low-normal levels of FT3 and FT4. Since radiation I have had sustained hair loss that shows no sign of relenting no matter what my dosage of thyroid hormone has been. All of my physical ailments started upon RAI. Could something pituitary have been kicked in and happening all this time? Over these past 5 years I have corrected an Iodine deficiency, developed gluten- casein- and soy sensitivities, had difficulty excercising as my muscles fatigue very quickly and I shake, and have held a fatigue level that requires 9 hours of sleep each night. I awaken very very tired each day. Endocrinologist says I'm just fine by my labs tho he'd like to see my TSH come higher and wants to lower my thyroid dose (AGAIN!). Even if that means taking me to below-normal range. The one thing I'd like to know about is the facial coldness. It could be 80* and my face feels like ice to me. Any breeze feels like a cold wind slapping me. I guess my next step is a neurologist... anyone have this issue? Thank you so much. Addition Info: After doing a little reading here I see Lyme Dz come up frequently. Also Glutathione levels. My dtr. had Lyme Dz right around the time that all of this started for me... I was never checked. Hers was very classic bulls-eye that overtook her tiny body (she was 5). Also, nutritional testing showed I was low on Glutathione and B6. I supplemented for a while but noticed no diff and got tired of the multitude of supps I was taking. |
