Default Something is really Wrong with me.

Im going to apologize in advance for my wall of text

So a couple of Years ago i started feeling this strange sensation when i went to bed. It felt as if my banket and bed was putting pressure on random parts of my body which just Kept pushing very lightly until i removed the clothing or object that was against my body. Of course i thought something was really wrong with me mentally, but the weirdest thing was that i felt this sensation even if i didnt know or feel i had part of my pillow against my forehead. Im no doctor, but to me this sounds like some sensory malfunction going on. Problems didnt stop there though. Half a year later it started buzzing in my feet constantly without pause, and still does today.

My problems seems to change as i now very rarely feel that pushing sensation when against objects, it first changed to jolts in my head when i closed my eyes to sleep. These shocks were without pain, but very disturbing and could happen many times before i fell asleep. Having had insomnia since as long as i can recall does not help my situation the slightest.

The problem has now changed and i dont feel those other issues anymore, but now i get a jolt in my buttocks when trying to sleep. There is no pain, just a strong itchy feeling that makes my back twist a little when it happens. Sort of like when you pinch someone at the sides on the lower part of their chest, but stronger.

I have been to the doctor and was sent to a psychiatrist for evaluation, and he cleared me from any known mental issue he could think of, and i also took an mri a little while after things started. They found a cyst, but said that would not be the cause of my issues. Other than that i get dismissed by my physician and she doesnt really believe me.

I know this must sound crazy, i know too well myself, but this is the reality im living in

If someone got any tips or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

By the lack of response to this thread i take it this is completely alien to people and maybe even totally unheard of

By the way, the title for this thread is really misspelled thanks to my Ipad's auto correct feature. Please correct it :P

Hi Stormyr,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

I'm sorry that I can't really help you except to direct you to a couple of the other forums here where people may be able to make some suggestions.

The symptoms you are experiencing could be caused by a large number of things. Are you taking any medications for any other conditions at present?

I'm wondering if you've seen a Neurologist to help sort it all out or if you've had any blood tests? You mentioned cyst and MRI. Where is the cyst?

I'll post a couple of links to other forums here in case anyone has some advice for you.

Peripheral Neuropathy Forum

I'm sorry I can't really help you but hope you are able to find some answers soon.

Default Hi Stormy

Sorry I am a bit slow to welcome you into Neuro Talk. You will find alot of compassion here and many good folks. We may not know exactly what you are experiencing, but we can and do make some suggestions. Since you have sensory issues, would your GP get you a referral to a neurologist? Since this problem has been around for awhile, maybe it is time for a complete exam with someone top notch. Don't give up. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right kind of physician or physicians to deal with a problem. It took me years litterally to find the team I currently have. I will be thinking of you. I hope others respond soon with some more ideas for you. ginnie

no, this is not unheard of...I've had some of the sensory symptoms you speak of and more and I think that peripheral neuropathy is a place to start. I get it as part of a wider problem - I suffer from Behcet's Syndrome which can have a nuro aspect to it which I'm just 'lucky' enough to have. It can affect your central nervous system.
