That's awesome,my same brother with the daughter with the Achondroaplasia, his son that is 3 1/2 is very smart for his age, even though he doesn't have the disease,so maybe she'll get the brains to! Her Mom is a CPA,and her DAD is The head of an Athletic Department for a school and a coach. He played football in College. So I don't think anybody will mess with her in front of her Dad,he's a big guy! Thier more worried about the medical standpoint in it,they were told that though her body will not grow to an adult or normal size, her internal organs would, and that could cause her some health problems in the future as she starts to grow, since she's only 5 1/2 months old now.

Does your neice live in the S.D. area? I am looking for a parent with a child with Achondroplasia. I recently found out one of my twins most likely will have this condition. It is basically dwarfism. I need some one in the San Diego area or a parent of a child with similar experience to email me advice about taking care of my soon coming baby. It isn't very common I guess. My doctor has not had a baby come in her office yet.
I guess by reading on the net, little people are very similar to normal people but just have a short stature. They can have problems with lungs at infancy but it is rare. And there is different types of the disorder. My daughter just seem to have short limbs, arms, legs. Everything else appears to be normal. I will know more when she arrives. I went to college also with a couple of little people so it helped me decide I am definately having this baby. They can live a very normal life..challenging at times I am sure but there are alot more people out there worse off. If you can give me any info..I would appreciate it. I just recently found out about my daughters condition so I haven't talked to anyone else in the area yet, it would be good to hear from someone with answers.

Actually the family is up here in Utah, that's why Utah is where I'm stuck,is because all my family is here,I'm the only one from San Diego! My family is the type that would freak if they knew I was discussing family issues with people online.I wish he was the type that would talk with you about it,but he was in tears just telling me.I'm sorry,I wish I could give you more, but you can look up Achondroaplasia online and see what it say's there, but so far my niece is 5 1/2 months old,and she's doing fine at her current age,if that even makes a difference at all,she has the same,I think where her arms, and legs, will stay smaller, but the rest will grow big,I'm not sure about her trunk area, you know chest and stomach part. And of course her head will grow
