Maybe an hours sleep last night. Starting at eight last night I began having electric-shock sensation in left baby toe. Pain hits about every 2-3 minutes. Slowed down this morning only giving me false hope that it was going to stop! Now it is back like a vengeance. Anyone experience this and what did you do to manage to hang in there? I am taking 3600mg. of Gabapentin a day.

My normally better right foot, did this two nights ago... I was bad...had some candy.... The new Lifesaver's gummies...on sale...couldn't resist. I haven't had any for at least 2 yrs.
So that night my right foot which is my better foot was just awful... stabbing in the arch of all places. Big stabs... After an hour of this, I got up and put 3 Salonpas patches on.. one above the ankle, and two on the instep. Voila...within a very short time...the stabs were gone. I took the patches off in the afternoon Sat. and they have not returned. I use Original Salonpas patches for my feet and hands quite a bit, but this was the most dramatic improvement in quite a while! They are inexpensive and really worth a go, for some people. If they don't work, on your feet you might find other places you could use them. I am getting Heberden's nodes on my right hand...on the thumb and index finger. And when those flare up the patches (cut to fit) work well overnight also.
