Default I'm freaking out!!!

Ok as you can seethe title... I'm a little upset. I think I'm almost positive I might have oral cancer. I'm 18 years old. I've been chewing tobacco for 5 years. I drink seldomly. I don't take any medication. Oooh and I smoke maybe cigarettes 4 times a week. Sometimes none. But anyways the past few months I've had high stress.
A couple weeks ago I had a sore in my mouth that lasted for about 2 and half weeks. Mind you that it had no sort of pain. Now I have another one almost next to where the old one was that hurts very bad. I've had it for about a week and a half. My hard palate is turning white. My right lymph node in my neck is swelled up but I think that could be from the canker sore. ..... I'm freaking out and need advice. I'm young and got thing in life I wanna do. This isn't one of them. Please help

Default Hello Corey

Hi, and I certainly hear your fright. Glad you found NT. There are some good folks around. I am sure you will have some responses. Try very very hard not to think the worst first OK? Quit all tobacco, which I am sure you already have done. Be brave and go see an oral specialist. Bryanna, who is the best on the site, is in the dental field. Please feel free to PM her, or post again to the front page and ask Bryanna....She is very knowledgeable. She will know exactly what kind of doctor to see. What ever it is, we will be here for you Corey. No medical issue is fun to face. None of us wants that DX. My father always told me an old expression...Don't put the cart in front of the horse. Meaning, get the apt first. List all your symptoms. Length of time you had them etc. When you do go see the doc. you will not forget anything. Bring a friend along if you can, as it makes the appointment less scary, and you will have some support.
Keep in touch Corey. ginnie

Have you made an appt with any kind of dr yet?
That is the first step, as they can see and test, we can only suggest things and can't even try to diagnose something like this on a forum.

That dr should give you referral to the best type of dr, if more testing is needed than they can do.

Bryanna posts on our Dental forum often, you need a few more posts before the PM option is available to you.

But I strongly suggest making a drs appt, and getting the chew monkey off your back no matter what this turns out to be..

Wink

No I have not made an appointment yet. I'm getting too that. Do you have any suggestions as to why my hard palate has turned partly white?
Do any of my symptoms even sound cancerous to you. I understand you can't diagnose people on here but what do those symptoms sound like? Oral cancer? Oral thrush? What do they sound like to you

Your regular dentist should be able to diagnose your symptoms, and may even be able to provide initial treatment.
