Default Rare eye condition?

Sorry that I am posting about an eye condition here on NeuroTalk, but I don't have access to an OpticalTalk forum and I suspect that my problem has a Neurological component. So here goes.

Simple enough question, does anyone know of or have any idea what might cause, Variable Fatigable Bilateral Monocular Diplopia.

My first guess was MG, but MG Diplopia is, it seems, always Binocular.

Any ideas or advice would be welcome as I am 6 months down the line and the condition is getting worse and drs are just shrugging their shoulders.

Hi juliejayne- I'm not familiar with this condition, but I did a search and found this article. I hope it helps in some way.

Hopefully someone else will come along soon who can help you more. I also hope you find relief soon.

Thanks Breia, unfortunately this article only deals with the common Binocular Diplopia.

It has the usual throwaway line that Monocular Diplopia is optical and therefore can be disregarded. Sometimes they mention "nearly always" optical.

Mine is the rare version that appears not to be entirely optical because it varies during the day. This indicates a tiring muscle or some such other tiring mechanism. So far no ophthalmologist has been able to come up with ANY reference to a case that fits with mine.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how frustrating it is seeing doctors who seem to be as perplexed as you are about your condition. I hope you can find a direction and treatment soon.

However none of these conditions are, to the best of my knowledge, variable and fatigable (day to day and during a day). They all are slowly worsening conditions.
