No, I can't keep him, it's impossible. I have 2 full grown Iguanas who are going through all kinds of anxiety having a cat in the house. They are mortal enemies. I have everyone separated with closed doors and hallways but They Know there is something they don't like in the house. I think they can smell him. No, little Olof has to go ASAP. I just couldn't leave him outside to suffer and die if a little effort on my part would save him and maybe make some unhappy human happy again to get this sweet boy back in one piece. I KNOW there is someone out there who is missing him terribly I hope somehow, someway she or he sees my ad.

can be associated with Type II diabetes. It might be a good idea to get a check up for this, if it persists.
It can also occur if too many high glycemic (sugar/potatoes/bread) are in the meal. High protein meals typically do not do this as much. Carbs stimulate release of serotonin in the brain which many find sedating.

Yes mrsd, I figured that out. Lately I have been having JUST protein for a meal or snack and it's working out very well. Along with Only healthy snacks. I have been tested for diabetes and my blood sugar is fine, right where it should be. We just need to treat out bodies with respect and learn how to eat properly. I thought about when the Bible was written those thousands of years ago, did THEY have all the processed foods and CRAP we have available today, NO. :nono:
Eating one Dog meal a day isn't good and neither is eating many HUGE meals a day with endless snacking between. We HAVE to give it a rest. Get strict with ourselves. WE can do it. Just THINK about what you put in your mouth. Are you REALLY hungry?? No? Then WHY are you eating??? Is what your eating going to FUEL your cells or just turn to FAT? It's pretty basic stuff. If I've eaten all my body needs by 6:00 then I STOP eating for the day. I don't careen into the night on an avalanche of snacks. Just have a cup of tea and a LifeSaver. Little joke there. |

yours is the response i would expect from a person wth metabolc syndrome....ie hyperinsulinemia....

Probably. I do know that when we eat our pancreas shoots out what is called an "Ample" amount of insulin. If mine if shooting out too much when I eat that very well could explain the fatigue. AND the fact that I want sugar during that time, I mean SUGAR!!!! Koolade, candy stuff like that. A little of that and I feel a little better. But since I have changed my eating habits over the past couple months I haven't had that happen very much, maybe a few time as opposed to a few times A DAY before.
