Default "I'm a mystery"

Hello, world
firstly, get ready for some reading, sorry. Im a female, 20 yrs and I have had a few symptoms that come on in episodes, it is at the stage now if im lucky i will by 'ok' for 2 months, still in pain though, but sick for about 4 months. It started when i was 11 years old and progressively got worse and worse. Now i am 20, not keeping a job, cant drive, study, focus.. it goes on and on. I'll get to my symptoms in a second.
I have had a lot of tests, basically everything except for a colons-copy or endoscopy. I've seen various GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists, councillors and a neurologist once and thats about it.
My symptoms are at present,
- Pains in the ovaries, no bleeding or period for months
- Vomiting averaging about 8 times a day
- Constipation that lasts for about a week on and off, extreme pain in the bowels
- hunger pains but food usually comes back up about 15 minutes after ive eaten it, longest ive gone without eating is two months.
- Migraines
- this has gotten a lot better with personal strategies, but what they call nerve paraesthsia, pain that usually shoots down one side of my body at a time, even air hurts my skin, but only lasts for a couple of minutes now, where it use to last for weeks at a time.
- Weird yellow puss filled blisters, generally on my hands and around my belly button
- Vision, very hard to focus and hurts around my eye sockets, sometimes im seeing the same outline of a light (usually white light) for the whole day, onsets of tunnel vision, sometimes everything looks kind of smokey, gray.
- Bottoms of my feet, feels like under the skin gets very itchy sort of burning.
-A pain in the left side is there constant with or without episodes, about 4 cm above my ovary, pain similar to pulling a muscle.
- Behind my ears gets really sore
- A few drs have also confirmed they can feel a few lymph nodes swolen, under the arm pit and one on the left side of my groin is noticeably swolen.
- Benign tumour in the breast
- Very hard to sleep, i have a couple of hours sleep where im getting really bad nightmares and my partner claims i cry, talk and grind my teeth when im sleeping, or sometimes choking on vomit.
- small secretion bilateral to the optic nerve (think on the left) that the neurologist said generally people who suffer from migrains get.
I hope i have explained things the best i can.
If anyone else is experiencing these things, please let me know I'm not alone. I don't feel sane anymore! I don't know where to go from here... They suggest i go to a city but i don't have the money or strength to travel that way.

Hi there,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

You're very young and have so much going on. I hope you have good support at home.

For a start and apart from everything else, if you're vomiting 8 times a day then you need urgent medical care.

Can I ask who is treating you for all these symptoms now? Is it your GP?

I need to get off the computer now, but just also wondered if you were ever tested or treated for insulin resistance or ever heard of PCOS - poly cystic ovarian syndrome. It's just something that crossed my mind when reading your list of health problems esp. in light of the fact it all started when you were 11.

We have a Diabetes / Insulin Resistance / Metabolic Syndrome Forum here. There are posts in there about both. They may not ring a bell, but you never know.

Takes years for some people to be diagnosed correctly because the symptoms can be many and different in every woman. An Endocrinologist would be a good person to see first up in the case of PCOS with Insulin resistance.

all the best... gotta scoot.

p.s. you don't need to have mutiple ovarian cysts to have PCOS. It's a bit of a misnomer.

Thanks Lara, i will definitely be seeing if theres any endocrinologists around.
I will also be recommending it to my friend.
I have been tested for some things that may rule it out, but i still think it would be beneficial to get things properly checked. I refuse to go back onto birth control as my family, partner and i all noticed a few negative changes when i have in the past, with my sister even claiming my personality changed. Certain things have also in the past seemed to bring on a sudden attack, that i just don't touch anymore. Chocolate, cake, anything with caramel, chewing gum, garlic, a lot of milk, where i have not tested positive to intolerance's. Also anti depressants make me worse and seem to bring on psychotic symptoms. I'm not sure if this extra information helps toward anything or is just odd coincidence.

Thanks Kitt
