Default Does anyone know what this is? I am freaked out.

A few weeks or months ago I was feeling slight tension around my jaw, it was nothing, I pretty much ignored it.

lately I developed sore tender spots behind left ear, right in front of the same ear, and a slight burning sensation on my cheek.

Also like a little toothpick stab type of feeling on the edge of lip, and at times a little dull ache on the side of the eye.

All on the left side only.

I was googling (Shouldn't have) and came across atypical-trigeminal-neuralgia and I am quite scared as it sounds horrible.

Could this be some muscle tension?

I have been recovering from neuritis which left me with balance issues and going to therapy so I was HORRENDOUSLY STRESSED AND ANXIOUS.... but this is new and is not related to the neuritis I experienced on my inner ear (it also occurred on the left)

I wonder if anyone knows?

Howdy, welcome; besides those pain symptoms...have you experienced anything else? Do you have any teeth/gum issues?
Sorry you are going through this...hang in there;

Cool Smirk

Hi Conbs,

I can set your mind to rest that it is not TN. That is short, stabbing, electric shock, EXCRUCIATING PAIN - probably the second worse pain one can suffer after Cluster Headaches.

While I, too, wonder whether you have any dental issues (which you could address on our Dental Forum), I would also urge you to see a Neuro to check for Neuropathic Facial Pain or any other neuralgias.

Facial pain is debilitating and worrying, and I sympathise.

Dave.

Do you have any history of herpes type outbreaks around your mouth? This can go back in the jaw and ear area, sometimes even further since the virus lives in nerve tract.
