Default Desensitization for Allodynia

Hi everyone,

Has anyone here had any success with desensitization for allodynia?

It's not the compression type that I read about on another thread.

It's using different materials from the softest ones to the roughest ones to rub for a length of time (about a week on each material) on the affected areas to get the skin used to them and to desensitize the skin from each material and then alleviating some of the allodynia pain.

I tried it a long time ago, and I didn't have any success with it.

For others here, it may work for you . My previous P/T years ago said she had positive sensitivity/pain results from that with some of her patients.

Good luck to anyone that tries this

Cool Smirk

I would have thought wearing 100% cotton 24/7 for 10 years or more would have made my body more used to the sensation of fabric, and not have it feel like being sprayed with lighter fluid and ignited.

And, even in England in the dead of Winter I cannot bear to be covered by any bedding despite years of trying with lighter and lighter items.

I do not see how desensitization can help extreme cases.

Dave.
