Default Intracranial pressure from lying down

Hi,

I was wondering whether or not lying down all day could cause intracranial pressure to build up to harmful levels. And could lying down all day cause damage to the brain or kill brain cells?

Thank you very much!

Hi JC1875

Welcome to NeuroTalk .

Unless there is some underlying medical issue, I doubt that lying down all day would damage your brain.

Hi, I'm back

Since intracranial pressure increases when lying down, could lying down for very long periods of time cause damage to your brain?

What is the health concern relating to your question?
If you can give more information it will help with replies.

Hmm, I'm not sure what to make of this...

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I'm wondering if lying down all day can result in brain cell death or any other sort of damage to the brain (due to the increased intracranial pressure from lying down). Sorry, I'm asking sort of a general question

If you are looking for specific or technical medical answers you might get that information more easily on a site that has doctors or scientists answering.

We are a community for people with various health conditions to share information.
