Since hip replacement I have a cane which is on the floor of back of my car....it's there just in case. Some days I feel I'd be safer using a cane and other days, I don't feel I want to start that.
In the supermarket today, and I talk to people, especially those with canes/crutches etc...ask them what their issues are and then get into my issue. Today a lady was walking with a walking stick, she made from a broom stick and bought a rubber thingy for the bottom of the stick. She talked up the walking stick for support, better posture, etc. I'm thinking on that now. Here is a good site with info on the walking stick vs cane. http://www.aafp.org/afp/2012/0601/p1018a.html |

Hi caroline2,
I prefer to use Trekking Poles. For me they offer better stability and endurance. Trekking Poles allow for a more natural walk/stride I have rubber tips on the bottom of mine which allows me to use them inside or outside. My Trekking Poles are Black Diamond and, I have Leki walking tips - http://www.rei.com/product/750119/le...king-tips-pair
