Somewhat related...one of my favorite blogs and FB pages is by a fellow named Chris of Chris Beat Cancer.

He was a young man when dx'd with stage 3 colon cancer. He was shocked and completely unprepared. He had surgery, but didn't want chemo. He began doing research on how diet might help prevent cancer. He has dedicated his life to this research. He never had the chemo and changed his diet and took supplements instead....using the guidance of a doctor with knowledge in this area.

It's been over a decade and the cancer has not returned. I believe he eats a nearly vegan diet, nearly all organic and continues to take some supplements. Personally, I like that he is not extreme in his thinking...accepting that each person has to find their way etc.
