About a year and a half ago I was going to bed and was hit like a truck by these overwhelming sensations that that feel like they rise from the chest or base of throat and travel up to my nasopharynx area and from there travel what feels like my brain stem(i know there is no feeling in your brain stem) and into my temporal region. The feeling can vary in intensity and comes at random times with no rhyme or reason. When the feeling gets intense it actually stings. Its not a stinging sensation like acid reflux either. It feels like a hyper excitement/ticklish sensation, very hard to describe. I have seen many psychiatrist until I had a really great one who said this sounds like a neurological issue. So i went to a neurologist and he said it sounds like simple partial seizure and the feeling is like an aura and he is right, it feel like an aura that stings when it get intense and he has put me on 400mg of lamictal which has helped a lot but im maxed out on 400mg and they have improved maybe 50% and it is not consistent. Another neuro said they could be migraine without headache and they could be migraine auras. When these symptoms are present I am completely present and not anxious or anything. The only thing that happens before or after this is I can get severely depressed. I can NOT get a firm diagnosis. I have had 2 video monitoring eeg's and the first one showed nothing and had a normal mri as well. I just had another video eeg at the mayo clinic last week and waiting on the results. Does anyone have any idea what this could be. It really screws with my quality of life and I get them everyday several times a day. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
