Default Devastating brain fog for 3 years now

Im a 20 year old male and i have been suffering from intense brain fog for 3 years now.

It all started progressively while i was in highschool, i was getting anxious easily, my mental focus and stamina dropped, my memory got a bit weaker, but i thought it was the studying and school to blame.
A couple months later those symptoms started to merge. I had complete mental fog, derealazation, inability to think or make plans, physical fatigue to the point i couldnt walk a block, deep depression and melancholy. I visited various doctors with no results.

Since then, these symptoms slowly fade and im getting closer to my normal self. Although, im still at around 50% of what i used to be and im still not fully functional at work.
My ability to handle complex problems is still noticeably damaged.

I have read that food allergies or infections often cause these kind of symptoms but i guess this is not the case for me.

I came to this forum as i have lost hope with doctors and different diagnoses.
Any help from you guys is welcome
Thank you in advance

Hi, I don't know what doctors have told you. But when I see someone talking about brain fog I go right to grape seed extract. I'm 77 and was told I have Fibro, which I questioned for years, and many with fibro talk about brain fog. I have never had a fog issue. Grape seed ex works on all circulation from head to toes. My grandkids 15 and 19 have been taking this OPC for a couple yrs and I'm going into my 21st yr.

Do a search on brain fog and grape seed extract, you will find many sites about it.

Diet can cause issues, gluten does a job on many we are finding. Meds I'm sure could cause fog. So this is my thinking.

Hi Jones41,

Have you ever been tested for ME/CFS? The symptoms are somewhat similar.

Dave.

Jones41, I agree with Dave that CFS/ME is worth checking out.

Allergies and infections (possibly also an autoimmune disease like multiple sclerosis) are also all possibilities.

A full check-up from an evidence-based health professional should be able to help you.

All the best.

Do you know what your B12 level is at all?
I also wonder if you were ill with a virus prior to the onset of the symptoms you describe. If so, were you ever been tested for Epstein Barr Virus ( the virus that causes mononucleosis).

I have autoimmune issues and take meds that are known to cause brain fog. But, certain things have been helpful for me!

I've had very good luck with certain vitamins and supplements: a good multi, a B complex and D 3.

Additionally, and perhaps the most important is a supplement I take called PS100. Please look at the reviews of it at www.iherb.com. It is amazing how many people take this for brain fog with good benefit. Just put in "PS 100" in the search box and read the reviews for Jarrow brand or another good brand.

Other things that help me include eating in a very healthy manner and getting proper sleep. Sounds simplistic, but, honestly, every little bit helps.

But check out PS100...it is amazing for myself and many others to help with brain fog.

Especially if you do all these things and it continues, definitely get a complete medical check up...blood work, etc.

Hi Lara! I have taken numerous blood test because i was also worried about my b12, folic acid and virous levels, but they all came out fine..
I had borderline low hematocrite and hemoglobin though, and i also suffer from mild leukopenia (low white blood cell count)
