Hi all, I've just had a New revelation. I deal with OA and the Hip mess and high blood pressure. On 3 blood pressure meds, my BP still stays elevated. After hip replacement in 2010 and off opioid drugs, I ended up with more ibuprofen. Tried to keep it at 4 a day and most days I did with some help in between with Pain-RX.
My new D.O. who I'm seeing weekly for bodywork is shocked at my elevated BP and I say it's white coat and it is a lot, but talking about Ibuprofen he said "this NSAID is keeping your BP elevated". Talked about the stroke possibility and of course the BP and I never thought Ibuprofen had so many possible side effects. So Many. So he pushed me to get off Ibuprofen and I have been off over a week now and I'm so happy with the lower BP readings. It's coming down already. I was so shocked at all the possible side effects with this NSAID. Ibuprofen (Oral Route) Side Effects - Mayo Clinic For Pain Help I'm taking Pain-RX Cox 2 inhibitor and Arthritis Tylenol and I'm getting thru my days. And sleeping all night as well. |

I take Advil daily. My Neuro said it was safe to take 800 mg at a time for spasticity pain. I have HBP, too, but it hasn't been high while I'm taking Advil. I have cut back on my dosage recently because my pain is not that severe right now. I never knew about the blood pressure component.

A good friend went thru a period of pretty high ibuprofen use and she now believes it was a major factor in the afib she just came down with a few months ago. She's off all ibuprofen now but on too many heart meds due to afib. She's working on that.
My daughter has been thru battles with opioid use and after that was all cleared from her body ended up on ibuprofen and she now is off it totally. Believes the edema is from it and thinks there may have been stomach bleeding which led to anemia. She says she's off ALL pain meds and I saw her yesterday and she looked so much healthier. She's getting regular D.O. work as are her teenagers. Kitty, look at the Pain-RX, it could help you. I've never out of pain but I manage as best I can without chancing other damage. I have a post on the Natural Pain-RX Cox 2 inhibitor. Just a thought. |
