Default Hyperreflexia, Fasciculations, but not ALS

Hello group,

I hope this thread will be encouraging to those who are worried about ALS. I know I have been very concerned. My symptoms started four months ago with pain (shooting pain), numbness, and tingling in fingers and arms. From there, I experienced muscle cramping in my neck and calves. Fasciculations developed suddenly and all over my body. I have had noted hyperreflexia (noted by my neurologist)

Now, many here will note that pain, numbness, and tingling are not symptoms of ALS (especially at the onset). But, when you have muscles twitching (even on the tongue), the mind can play some pretty serious tricks.

I have had a lumbar puncture, many blood tests (Lyme's twice), six MRIs, but no answers.

My weirdest symptoms include those that have moved (my tingling was mostly in my left arm, now exclusively in my right), tongue burning/tingling, and an elevated heart rate (My resting heart rate was typically 65-70, it is now 100+ over the course of four months)

But, I don't have weakness (Although, if you look all over your body you can probably find parts that don't look symmetrical)

I had an EMG today by a very reputable neuromuscular doctor who did not find any muscle or nerve damage. He reassured me that a clean EMG means no ALS, and that my symptoms generally didn't match up anyways (even with those that do).

I still have no clue what I am dealing with (If you have gone through anything like this, please feel free to share!), but I wanted to encourage those who are deeply concerned because muscles are twitching.

God's blessings
