Default Uneven pupils

Hello everyone, I am new here and I have one heck of a complicated story regarding my husband. He has an unknown condition which first presented about seven years ago as laziness and lack of motivation, but then progressed to movement issues and further cognitive decline. I will get into more details later, but wanted to start off by asking if anyone knows what could be causing one specific symptom. He has been in the hospital for two years now, and last year he underwent 36 shock treatments (long story ). Since then I have noticed that some days his right pupil is larger than the left. Other days they are completely normal. I have asked every doctor and nurse that I have seen what it could indicate and can't get a good explanation. Some just say it's normal for there to be variations; others try to attribute it to lighting. I could understand if they were like that permanently but why some days and not others? Can anyone offer any insight?

Hi Mallory

Welcome to NeuroTalk .

As far as I can make out uneven pupil size (anisocoria) can have many possible causes. This information might help you with this Anisocoria - EyeWiki .

Best wishes.
