Default appropriate treatment for tendonitis in upper arm

Hello,
I am looking for information regarding how to alleviate pain in my right upper arm that I believe is caused by RSI (tendonitis?). Thre is so much information about RSI, but I would like to understand specifically what exercises I should avoid and what changes to my working environment will help. For example I'm not sure that what would relieve pain in the wrist or hand (e.g. ergonomically designed keyboard or a vertical mouse) will help relieve pain in the upper arm?

I think it's RSI because when I stop using my laptop and specifically my right hand (I'm getting good at using the track pad with my left hand ) the pain subsides.

It's worse at night and really aches when I wake up. (I sleep on the other side)

I'm asking here becasue I'm hoping there will be someone with similar symptoms.

Thanks for reading
Kate

Hi Kate

Welcome to NeuroTalk .

I have no personal experience of tendonitis/RSI but hope that other members will be able to help you.

Best wishes.

Upper body posture with head/shoulder aligned is very important.

OP: I don't have RSI but live with chronic OA shoulders and elbows, so for one thing I only sleep on my back, all night. Probably some bursitis in there as well.

I know a lot about PRP injections, and Prolotherapy in general, and that's a possibility for you to find a provider in your area. Sadly it's not covered by insurance but many manage to get these treatments. And they work for a lot. I've had a few in my life but can't afford them.
