Default Left Temporal Lesion ?

Hello,

Today i found out that a Ct that i had done shows a hyperdensity within the anterior left temporal fossa for which vascular or other lesion remains. I was wondering if anyone has ever had something like this and can tell me more about it. I was having terribel migrains for about 2 weeks when my doctor sent me for a ct. Now I have to go for an MRI. I guess i am just looking for more info as to what it could be. If anyone can help out i would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Jen ~ Back in July 2005 an MRI showed a lesion in my left temporal lobe so I think I know how you're feeling.
It's scary, isn't it?

But my situation was so different, I don't know or understand anything that you've talked about.
Do you have a neurologist or a doctor who will talk to you? Who will be reading the MRI films and discussing them with you? That's who will have the answers for you.
The best thing you can do is to take a family member, husband, dear friend, someone with you who can help you ask questions, take notes, things like that. You might be too nervous to remember things (I was) or ask all your questions so be certain you have someone with you who will.

I'll keep you in my prayers and I'll try to answer any questions if I can. Please return here and let us know how you're doing.

Hi, I have to make an appt. with a neurologist. Right now my primary doctor gave me the results of my ct. I know they have the answers I was just curious as to other people who have had them and what they turned out to be. As far as the description I gave I just copied it off the sheet. I work in a doctors office so it was easy to get a copy of the ct report. Thanks so much for responding.

Oh Jen! I'm glad you're back and I sure hope you keep coming back. When's your neuro appointment?
It was my neuro that sent me for the MRI that found all the "garbage" in my brain ..... that turned out to be a tumor, a grade ll oligodendroglioma, that was removed Feb., 2006. My seizures continued so I had another surgery May, 2007 and I haven't had a seizure since then. (I was told that the first surgery would remove the most minimal amount of tissue possible with high hopes that another surgery would not be necessary)
Brain surgery .... Wow, that sounds scary. And it IS but it is NOT as bad as it sounds.
But let's hope and pray you don't need it.

Hi Jen
I had an MRI done in oct. 07 and it showed multiple leasions. I had to have another MRI (results were the same) and then a lumbar puncture. The doc. was thinking I had MS. My lumbar puncture showed that it was 95% sure I did not have MS. I am still in the process of trying to find out what is going on in my brain. The think I hate the most is how concerned all the docs were they all said the there were too many leasion for someone my age. But as soon as all their different test came back neg. All of the sudden it was fine. Than maybe lots of people are walking around with leasions and don't even no it. That just does not sit well with me.
Good luck with all your appointmsents

I have a few lesions too, but after more tests, found it was not MS...Doc said it could be from a number of things.

Thanks for all the replies. All they found was one lesion on me. I guess the hardest part right now is all the waiting and not knowing. I have never looked as forward to a doctors appt. as i am this upcomming one with the neurologist. Hopefully they can give me some kind of answer. Or even medication to stop all the migraines! I will keep everyone updated.

Thanks again,

Jen

Default Update

Hello Everyone,

Just stopping by to give an update. I went to the neurologist yesterday. The MRI came back normal. They said that it was probably just an artifact on the CT. For the past week and a half all my migraines have stopped. The neurologist yesterday gave me some medicine to try if the migraines return. But it was a big sigh of relief to hear that everything was normal. Thanks to everyone who replied about this situation.
