I don't have a question per-se, but more of a rant.

I went back home to visit family and decided to plan a day with my Mother and my son. We wanted to start off at Target and then end at the book store.

On the way to Target I found myself feeling rather nauseous, which isn't exactly abnormal for me. Once we got there, I started to feel some abdominal discomfort and a woozy feeling. This is usually what happens 5 minutes before a seizure and to avoid public humiliation, I asked my mom to escort me to the bathroom so I can get into a cozy position just in case.

Once I got there, I thought I may have to vomit so I dry-heaved a bit and nothing. I decided I was just feeling crappy and went back out into the store, within 3 minutes we were back to the restroom. At this point, I look like I either have the 'runs' or I am shop-lifting. Hah. Again, dry-heaves and nothing so I again, went back out. I was walking hunched over a bit, and when I stood up completely erect I was then struck with the most unholy chest pains I have ever felt. Well, actually I have never had heartburn so I am not even familiar with chest pains. Whatever they were, they hurt bad enough to make me see white spots.

This time, more concerned I did a speed walk to the restroom. The abdominal and chest pain was so severe that I had to sit on the toilet with my head by my knees (like I'm waiting on a tornado). I felt suffocated so I decide to not pull my pants down but instead, remove them. I kick my purse under the door and send my mom out to buy me the ugliest maternity pants she could find.

This pain went on for approximately an hour and I spent 45 minutes of it in the bathroom because I felt like hiding in the stall was a good idea. Sadly, Target in Kentucky seems busy and their bathrooms get lines. It was awkward but I wasn't going to move, it hurt to bad. Towards the end, I started to feel like an idiot so I told mom as soon as I pulled up my newly purchased ugly pants (think MC Hammer), I would open the door grab her arm and haul butt to her truck.

I can only imagine how it looked to the workers there to see me in and out of the bathroom and then exit with different pants on, but I didn't care to stop and explain. We made a rush for her truck and immediately drove home. I remained in the sitting-up fetal position all the way back. I'd guess this went on for 2 hours total.

Then as quickly as it came, it left and only had a little tenderness afterwards. During the episode I had a small budging area on the right side above my belly-button (my right, your left).

I got to trying to solve this myself and since I do have a small bowel obstruction history I came up with this. I was bloated and my jeans were snug, perhaps they pushed organs up and caused something to get mad and maybe triggered the SBO or just made my organs mad. The pain was intense, like needles stabbing me everywhere in my stomach, abdomen and chest. It's hard to explain, really.

I threw my jeans away.



I had a full abdominal and pelvic ultrasound about 3-4 weeks ago. The only thing(s) I have are: Small mass on left hepatic lobe (which just means I ate crappy food, probably - it's very small), a plum sized cyst on my right ovary and not shown on that but shown via laparoscopy - I have two bands of adhesions that are persistent. I've had them cut 3 times now and I'm guessing the surgery triggers more scar adhesions thus resulting in a SBO at least once per year (although it's like an 'episode' and has yet to turn into a full permanent strangulation). I'm stating that because I wanted to point out my gallbladder is fine, and I heard chest pain and abdominal pain can mean its your gallbladder.

Anyway, whatever it was it was crappy and I am happy it left. I had nothing else to blame so I figured I'd take it out on my jeans, I didn't ever like them anyway.

gallbladder?

both of my folks have had problems. mom had hers removed. both had the pains like you said...the chest pains.

we had taken dad in to the er because galltone attack mimics a heart attack.

Well the pain eventually went away and my gallbladder was fine a month ago. I'm not too sure how long or how fast a gallbladder can 'go bad', but I'm pretty happy that whatever 'it' was went away.

I'd rather be in labor!

i really don't know how fast one could go bad or create a stone.

with my mom, she had stomach problems for years. dad...his attack was the first sx.

No, we left early enough I didn't get the chance to expose myself to anything that would poison me (I just nitpicked small things at mom's house). My organs are jerks.

Do you have a notebook or calendar that you record these things on for future - so if it happens again?
sometimes weird things just happen.

I had some really weird dizzy spells and fast heart beat in 2005 - lasted about a week and a half, on and off, went to a naturopath and she did tests and full blood work, by the time the results came back the symptoms were gone. The tests were all OK except high chol & triglycerides.
She decided that it was just a very odd bug of some sort- even tho no fever or ill feeling other than the slight nausea & fatigue during the dizzy spells.
