Default FDA OKs bacteria-eating virus to treat meat

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14410160/

WASHINGTON - A mixture of six bacteria-killing viruses can be safely sprayed on meat and poultry to combat common microbes that kill hundreds of people a year, federal health officials said Friday.

The mixture of special viruses, called bacteriophages, would target strains of Listeria monocytogenes, the Food and Drug Administration said in declaring it is safe to use. The viruses are designed to be sprayed on ready-to-eat meat and poultry products just before they are packaged.

The bacterium they target can cause a serious infection called listeriosis, primarily in pregnant women, newborns and adults with weakened immune systems. In the United States, an estimated 2,500 persons become seriously ill with listeriosis each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Of those, 500 die.

Default Hey Cloudz

Since you like finding websites, I have a request. Will you send some sites of happy human interest stories? They are out there, they just don't get much attention and I think we could all use a huge dose of "feel good" type of news. It might boost your spirits too.
Thanks for your help with this.

Default You are on a site of encouragement and support...

if so, what can your 'research' tell me about the prognoses of 'paraneoplastic neuropathies and cancers'? Then, read all my posts. Since I've both, and, have researched extensively through all that I deem to be legitimate sources, I really wonder what 'others' are saying or quoting out of context. It would be extremely useful in my writing to others who don't have a clue about either, nor really care to expend the energy to get any clue. That way I can prepare all true medically researched answers to same. Please put your energy into a constructive rather than destructive channel. Thank you. - j

Default Meat is OK with me...knowing how it's processed...

But, you never ANSWERED MY question about cancers... Truly, you can cite actual research that indicates all complications are due to MEAT? Pray tell, provide me with the institutions doing the research. I would really like to know.

As for meat, knowing how it is processed before it is acquired is a smart consumer's 'given'.

Many people miss many ESSENTIAL certain nutritional components on some vegetarian diets...other diets not so. Can you tell me what diet you are on? I would really like to know...that and any supplements that you deem safe to consume.

I asked you to answer my questions about cancers and neuro s/e's. You have not- yet, but I've faith you will. Thank you.
