Default meniere's

hi, my name is viv and i was dx'd with meniere's 10 or 11 years ago. it is kind of an umbrella name for anything with vertigo. but i do not have "spells" (as i used to refer to them) anymore. i just have everyday dizzies and then some worse times. doc says there really is no cure and he has taken me to university hospital in denver also to have me checked out. many people who suffer with this malady do well on a salt free diet, but it made no difference to me. my brain is actually learning to adapt to the daily stuff. there are still days that i must stay sorta stuck to the recliner but not as much as it used to be.
i mourned my health for 2 years but finally decieded that i wasn't going to die of this and had to get on with things. i did have a shunt put in the left ear about 8 years ago to no avail.
i would suggest you go to a balance specialist in your town if you can find one. mine is a hearing and balance specialist and i really like him. but even he is the one that told me to get on line and look as people with the problem know more about this than even the docs. (although i think this is changing)
anyway, if you think i can help in any way please let me know.
