Default A peripheral neuropathy question --

I have some peripheral neuropathy, which actually is way better since I had a huge amount of vitamin B12 after I completed a round of Metronidazol for the tetanus I had.

But, the thing is when there is stress, and there's so much of it, I have a lot of trouble with the feeling in my feet.

If you have peripheral neuropathy, do you ever get that feeling that your foot is slipping out from under you, when actually it's on the ground and not moving at all?

That feeling causes me to lose my balance when I try to catch my balance... it's hard to explain.

In the house, where I can quickly lean toward the hallway wall or catch hold of a cabinet or table I'm not so bothered. But when it happens outside I break out into a cold sweat (I get sort of shivering cold and I also am sweating). It's so scary.

But it doesn't happen all the time.

So I don't carry a walking stick all the time, because I often am carrying plants or garden things.

How do you deal with this... or don't you ever experience these feelings in your feet?

No one there replied, on the Peripheral Neuropathy forum...

so I'm going to hope that someone comes here and sees this.

I recently found the notes I kept while I lived in the hydrogen sulfide... when I was having a LOT of trouble with balance and I was falling a lot.

It's possible that my nerve damage is somehow different than ordinary peripheral neuropathy because of the nerve damage from the hydrogen sulfide.

I know I've also had the numbness that made it seem as if my foot had stepped off a curb and never hit ground.

I think the slipping feeling must be caused by my nerves ... by my nerves having a sort of wave of feeling unrelated to anything that is a real stimulant. Just a wave of unrelated feeling.

But of course I don't know. I was hoping to hear what someone else had experienced. I am still hoping.

Hi there

I too suffer from PN and have the feet feeling that you describe sometimes. But the worst thing for me is everytime I put my foot on the ground it feels as if I am walking on glass OUCH! But that slipping feeling is a nightmare, and at home in familiar territory I can handle it but like you, in public I break out in a sweat and have actually stumbled a few times. I dont carry a walking stick although I have in the past. I find it too embarrassing and hard because I have a toddler to try and manage as well

I have the same feeling of looseing feet I can best discribe it as standing on the beach and watching the sea water run back out from under your feet

You know what, that was very nice of you. I appreciate it.

I haven't been back in a long time, and I hadn't seen the answers. Then answers make me feel a lot better.
