Default Not able to sleep much...

I am starting to get angry with my younger sister for she keeps telling me what is going on with her body and for some reason it ends up happening to me too. A few days ago she told me how she had a mole that was bleeding and then that very night one of my moles had started bleeding and when I went to take a shower the next day it fell completely off. Then a couple days later she was telling me how she was going to be starting her period soon. That very night I started mine.

I am begginning to wonder if this whole sleeping pattern is her's too. I really can't sleep for very long. I have to take meletonin to help me get to sleep to begin with and then I wake up at 2-3am and not able to fall back to sleep. I know that my sister has been talking about not getting much sleep herself all the time, but I didn't think it would affect me this way. I'm not sure if it is that or if there is in fact something wrong with me. It all just seems to weird. Any way this new sleep pattern has started like three weeks ago and I am just so wore out from it. I am tired of not being able to sleep at night. I just don't know what to do. I am half tempted to tell my sister to not say anything negative to me again! LOL! Just to see if that stops my symptoms. Hey it might work!

Wish,
I have heard that when females live in the same household that their cycles eventually come around the same time. Don't know for sure but I have heard about moms/daughters doing the same thing. Got me why it happens but I have heard it enough.
Do you and your sis share a room. Maybe she snores and wakes you up and you don't even know it
Just some thoughts for you.
I am glad you mentioned the mole because I grew one on my neck in a few days and then a few days later it fell off, go figure!!!!!!!!!! I guess it happens but it sort of freaked me out at first.
Take good care.
You guys are so funny on this thread, love reading it.
Judy

Heart : )

Jude is making me smile.

I didn't know moles could do that. Wow.

I have a lot of sebaceous keritosis... I'm not spelling well today... but those little raised brown spots that doctors say are totally all right. (Only a few years ago there was a news prograom on how if you had really a lot of them, then sometimes it could be a sign that cancer would follow. I have masses of them. They were reducing in number after I started having B12 replacement, but then recently I noticed that there are a lot... and I wonder if maybe they are from how much Ibuprofen I was taking over a couple of years when I had the tetanus and thereafter when the nerve damage was painful extremely.)

It's true, you could be very sympathetic to your sister. So maybe you should tell your sister good things and then if she is very sympathetic with you... that will turn things around.

I always take melatonin, but sometimes if there is a lot of stress I have to take a second one. I take the smallest dose, ordinarily. I forget what that is.

My sister and I don't even live in the same house right now. I am living in the dorms and she is living with a friend. Maybe we just spend too much time together. I don't know!!

As far as my moles go, I have had them all since I was a baby!! It runs in my family. I have about 1/4 indian blood in me and that is where they come from. I know that they can turn cancerous so I will probably have them checked out the next time I see my doctor.

I have to take two meleltonin to help me fall asleep the first time and then after I wake up in the middle of the night I just take one becuase I'm afriad I will sleep through my classes if I take any more. I just feel so drained during the day but yet I can't sleep at night. Go figure!!

You know, the other thing could be a reduction in the amount of oxygen you are getting.

I forget what all causes it, but while we sleep we can have airway restriction that reduces oxygen and then we feel tired next day. We think we've slept, but without getting enough oxygen, our bodies are struggling.

My doctor told me to use an additional pillow, to raise my head. And that helped.

It would help if I lost weight... I'm awfully heavy since I've been in bed for so long. When I walk even a little bit it immediately spurs my metabolism and I feel so much better. But then something will happen, like I got left in the cold the other week by the ADA taxi, and I got so sick again. That's been happening once or more a month. So just when I'm getting better and able to walk without my feet feeling spongy and my legs giving out on me, I get over stressed from the cold or something, and WHAM!

As a matter of interest, do you have ridges on your fingernails? or have you lost any moons on your fingernails? Those can be symptoms of low B12.

As an aside I've had some moles since I was a baby, and my Polish grandmother told me to watch them for signs of change as they could mean cancer. That's almost 60 years ago.

Not being able to get enough oxygen while you sleep can be caused by "sleep apnea" which is a sort of shutting of the airways.

Try sleeping with your head elevated a bit. See if that helps. And if you have symptoms of low B12, get some of the methycobalamin. Then track your symptoms when you take it and see if over a few weeks it helps.

I already sleep elevated due to my allergies blocking my air way. I don't think I should sleep any more higher than I am. I'm using four pillows as it is. Maybe it't time for an allergy medicine change. I don't know. Thanks for the information though.

Wow, four pillows!

I bet you look like one of those ladies in the movies, with all the pillows.

Do you think there's any chance that you're so tired because you are having air blockage at night?

The other night I was dreaming that I was going up to see my old relatives, and then in the dream I hit the ceiling and the corner had a lot of dusty spider webs in it... and then I woke up with this pain in my throat and coughing for air.

But I didn't really remember not being able to breath.

Do you take vitamins at all?

When I first was diagnosed as profoundly anemic I didn't know that I had to have B12 shots. I thought I could just take mega B vitamins with B12 in the mixture and it would help. So I took masses of them.

Well, having taken two or three rather large bottles over one month, it made NO, absolutely NO difference in my B12 level when I had a test.

But, it made my allergies go away. AWAY.

I was stoked.

Now I start taking a multi with B vitamins in it prior to the allergy season. Next month that will be, here in Santa Fe, because of the juniper.

Do you wheeze at all? My wheezing is much better since I lost about 20 pounds... but I need to lose more. The doctor showed me how I wheeze when my head is lower, and not when it's higher... he was associating the wheezing with the sleep apnea thing.

I hope you get to feeling MUCH better and sleeping well.

I was taking vitamines but they did nothing for me. I kept waking up caughing even more. I don't wake up caughing right now but I do wake up and toss and turn all night. I don't weeze or at least I don't think I do. I've restricted my phsycall activities to just walking and some yoga. I just don't know why I can't sleep at night any more. Maybe over break I will just stay up for 24 hours and then try to see if that works for me. Maybe that will help me to sleep better. I don't know. I'm running out of ideas.

Gosh, I wouldn't stay up for 24 hours, that will really stress your body.

If stress is affecting your B12 levels, then you wouldn't sleep better.

I have to go back and read if you are taking B12.

I maybe didn't say that the kind of vitamins I found to help were the Mega B Complex. Were you taking those at all?

If you haven't tried Methylcobalamin, try that. Keep some notes on what you experience.

(I read what you wrote, and I didn't see that you were taking Methylcobalamin or a MegaB complex. If I missed it, let me know.)
