Default 8 Situations When You Should Keep Your Mouth Shut

Keeping your mouth shut is hard. I well know. The author has offered his views about when responding is not a good idea here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog...our-mouth-shut

I enjoyed the article. My intention is to refer to it as needed to remind me when to put a sock in it.

That was helpful and appreciated. I tend to be ok with close friends or family members being frank with me and kindly offering constructive criticism if 1. I am requesting honest feedback and 2. It is done in a kind way. However, someone very close to me tells me that most people are not even ok with this and react badly if offered constructive criticism AND few people know how to offer it in a kind, helpful and appropriate manner. Therefore, my thoughts on this might not be realistic. I'm very fortunate that this one relative of mine "gets it" and we work together well. Might very well be correct in his assessment. Interesting and helpful link.

I know who to give info to and who not too. I've opened my mouth and regretted it with a loved one...but my older lady friends, can laugh things off....we do what we do anyway.

Life is short, walking on eggs all the time isn't good either...pick and choose.

Yesterday at bridge and I'm older, 77 soon, I like to let go and do crazy kinda things...even though I won't go in the ground when I die, I wouldn't want my tombstone to read: "she obeyed all the rules" ... breaking some rules is not the end of the world. I had fun at bridge yesterday and made some wild choices...it's only a card game...we can look at life that way too: it's a game. Laugh and make others laugh. I got some good laughs from my bridge friends yesterday..laughter is a good gift.

PS: I follow all the rules that are important that need to be followed and not broken, believe me. Parking tickets in our city cost over $62...
